Amber is considered an organic Gemstone, academically called Resinite or Ambrite. It comes from the rubber remains of an extinct pine family of trees, requiring a long period of time in geological processes under pressure and heat, causing evaporation and rearrangement of bond builders until they solidify into paleontology.
One point to note in mineralogy is to distinguish between amber and copal (Copal).
