🪴Improve Your Life 🪴

Houseplants make up 75% of my personality 😂.

Houseplants provide many benefits that are backed by research - they improve your quality of life in many ways.

🪴Improve Air Quality🪴

Many things in our home create air pollutants. Plants convert carbon dioxide to oxygen, cleaning the air. Houseplants can help remove cancer causing agents like formaldehyde and benzene from the air. The microorganisms in the rhizosphere of the potting mix act as bio-filters. The same microorganisms are known to have anti-depressive effects.

🪴Reduce Stress, Depression, Anxiety🪴

Caring for indoor plants reduced psychological and physiological stress. Interacting with plants helped suppress sympathetic nervous system activity and diastolic blood pressure in study participants. Studies have shown that indoor plants can improve focus, decrease depressive moods and lessen symptoms of anxiety. When your mind and body are relaxed, it can improve your blood pressure, heart rate and cortisol levels. Spending time with nature releases “outdoor-phins”. Bringing plants inside allows nature into our home.

🪴Mutualistic Relationship🪴

We provide care - light, optimal growth conditions, feed them, clean them - and they clean our air, improve our health and wellbeing, and provide beauty in our home.

I started out my biology path with my full intentions on entering the health field specializing in pathology. I’ve always loved plants and nature. After my first semester I knew working with plants was my calling and I’ve switched gears to plant pathology. Spending all of my days with plants has improved my life dramatically. They require me to be more attentive to the current moment.

Add some green to your home, I promise you will not regret it 💚.

... Read moreHouseplants have gained significant attention not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for their profound impact on mental and physical health. Studies have consistently shown that indoor plants can enhance mood and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. For instance, research indicates that spending time with plants can lower blood pressure and cortisol levels, encouraging a calm and centered mindset. Incorporating houseplants into your living space can create a more inviting and peaceful atmosphere, fostering tranquility amid the hustle of daily life. Plants like peace lilies and snake plants are particularly effective at filtering harmful toxins from the air, making your home healthier. Furthermore, the act of nurturing and caring for these plants can be therapeutic, providing a sense of accomplishment and connection to nature, which is often lacking in urban environments. Moreover, engaging in plant care can create a mutualistic bond. Just as we provide plants with water, light, and nutrients, they reciprocate by improving the quality of our air and offering psychological benefits. This relationship emphasizes the importance of taking time to care for living things, which can ultimately lead to personal growth and well-being. So, whether you're a seasoned plant parent or looking to start your journey, adding greenery to your home can be a transformative decision for both your environment and your mental health.

At last count I had 37 house plants, I have them in every room. My oldest plant was given to me by my grandmother 49 years ago from a cutting and it is still growing strong.🪴
