Grief , 1 year without you

12 months today.

366 days of a leap year.

1 full year.

.

Nothing is the same.

The Lobby in the building and

the Porte Cochere have been updated

and look nothing like the day you saw it last.

Today the City removed all the trees lining

the street in front of our building so the View has changed too.

.

We feel you around.

Today the lights flickered, the clouds kept on taking the shape of hearts. Things you loved appeared on tv, in songs, as smells.

.

We still miss your presence, and everything still

reminds us of your physical absence.

.

The sadness is so deep. 1 full year of memories with you not physically in them felt unbearable.

.

But we made it. We talk about you all day,

Everyday.

Wishing you a

Happy Heavenly Name day.

We love you.

... Read moreThe journey of grief is often a long and winding road, especially when a year has passed since a loved one's departure. Emotional milestones, such as anniversaries, can reignite feelings of loss, but they can also provide a unique opportunity for reflection and remembrance. During this time, many find comfort in sharing experiences, whether through conversation, journaling, or connection with others who have similarly experienced loss. Grief is a deeply personal journey, and each individual's process is different, but common elements include nostalgia, longing, and the continued presence of memories. Additionally, many people find solace through engaging in meaningful rituals like lighting candles, creating memorials, or participating in specific actions that honor their loved one's memory. Grief groups, both online and in-person, can be beneficial, allowing for shared expressions of remembrance, fostering healing through community support. Remembering is not just a solitary act; it can also unite people in shared experiences of love. As families, friends, and communities navigate the challenges of grief together, they can celebrate the lives of those they've lost, ensuring their legacies continue to shine brightly in everyday life. Reach out to others, share your story or seek support—it's a testament to the enduring connection that love fosters, even beyond life. Resilience often grows from pain, reminding us of the strength we hold within as we carry forward the memories of those who are never truly gone.
