It’s been almost 6 years and sometimes I just feel so stuck and I keep getting upset that I’m forgetting their voice.

... Read moreGrief is a deeply personal experience, and its complexity often leaves individuals feeling lost and emotionally drained. While many believe that time heals all wounds, the actual process of grieving is non-linear. Each person's journey through loss is unique and can be influenced by several factors, including the nature of the loss, support systems, and personal coping mechanisms. Numerous studies suggest that while the intensity of grief may lessen over time, the emotional landscape of our memories can remain vivid. This may lead to feelings of forgetting loved ones, as seen in the sentiment expressed in the article. Understanding that it's normal to feel stuck or uncertain, even years later, can offer solace to those navigating their grief. Additionally, engaging with supportive communities can be beneficial. Sharing stories and experiences can create bonds that help alleviate feelings of isolation. Remembering our loved ones through rituals, storytelling, or even simple conversations can keep their memories alive and provide comfort as we adjust to life without them. In essence, grieving may not necessarily become easier, but it often transforms, leading to new ways of remembering and connecting with those we've lost. Embracing this process can lead to personal growth and a deeper understanding of love and loss.

It’s very much true. You’ll never “get over it”. You’ll always miss that person but you learn to live life without them there and learn it’s ok to do so. It’s ok to be happy. It’s easier when you believe in a higher power as well.
