A Court of Thorns and Roses ❤️
My first fantasy book since the shadow hunter series. I would say it’s a great read but fair warning the first few chapters and slow. So push thru because it’s all worth it in the end. For me it was hard imagining the characters but looking inspiration in people’s post helps a lot. I can’t wait to read the next book. I am now ready for my fantasy book journey to begin. #acotar #acourtofthornandroses #fantasybooks #fantasybookreview #a touch of fantasy #i love fantasy books
I remember picking up 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' by Sarah J. Maas, mostly because it kept popping up everywhere! After finishing my beloved Shadow Hunter series, I was looking for something to fill that fantasy void, and everyone was raving about ACOTAR. To be honest, the first few chapters felt a bit daunting. I found myself thinking, "Is this really worth all the hype?" But, oh my gosh, I'm so glad I pushed through! What truly makes ACOTAR a standout "fantasy romance" for me is the incredible world-building combined with deeply engaging character relationships. You're not just getting a love story; you're immersed in a rich, magical realm of Faeries, political intrigue, and ancient curses. The balance between the high fantasy elements and the intense romantic tension is just perfect. It’s the kind of book that transports you entirely, making you forget you’re just sitting on your couch with your Kindle. A huge draw, as many of you probably know, is the "strong female lead," Feyre Archeron. She starts as a human huntress, burdened by family responsibility, and evolves into this incredibly resilient, powerful character. Her journey isn't easy; she faces immense challenges, trauma, and makes tough decisions. Seeing her grow into her own strength and embrace her abilities is incredibly inspiring. It’s not just about physical strength, but her mental fortitude and unwavering spirit. This is definitely a story where the female protagonist drives the narrative and isn't just a love interest. And let's talk about the "enemies to lovers" trope – ACOTAR practically perfected it! The dynamic between Feyre and certain characters (no spoilers!) is just *chef's kiss*. The slow burn, the witty banter, the undeniable chemistry that develops from initial animosity to something much deeper and more passionate. It’s executed so brilliantly that you can't help but get completely invested in their journey. It's not rushed, it feels earned, and it makes the romantic payoff so much more satisfying. Plus, there are definitely some "Beauty & the Beast" vibes woven into the story, especially in the early parts, which adds another layer of classic enchantment to the narrative. For anyone like me who struggled with the initial pace, my advice is to keep going. The initial chapters lay the groundwork for the intricate world and character motivations. Sometimes, it can be hard to visualize everything at first, but once you get past that initial setup, the story truly takes off. I found that looking at fan art online really helped me picture the characters and setting, especially when I was struggling to imagine them in my head. The "fantasy art" inspired by this series is just stunning, from detailed character portraits to breathtaking landscapes, and it truly enhances the reading experience. In conclusion, if you're looking for an epic "fantasy romance" with a "strong female lead" and a captivating "enemies to lovers" plotline, 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' is an absolute must-read. It's more than just a book; it's an immersive experience that will leave you desperate for the next installment. I'm already counting down the days until I can dive back into that world!

Just wait for the second book 🔥
