Soulful Sunday- Finding Courage to Move Forward 🙌🏾
SOULFUL SUNDAY — FINDING COURAGE TO MOVE FORWARD
Courage is not the absence of fear.
It’s movement in spite of it.
A lot of us are not stuck because we lack talent.
We’re stuck because we’re waiting to feel ready.
Ready is a myth.
Our ancestors rarely had the luxury of feeling prepared. They moved because survival demanded it. They built because standing still meant being erased. Courage for them was not motivational. It was necessary.
Today, courage looks different, but it is still required.
It looks like:
• applying even when you doubt yourself
• leaving what no longer fits
• starting before you feel confident
• speaking even when your voice shakes
• choosing growth over comfort
Fear will always show up before expansion.
That doesn’t mean stop.
It means you’re at the edge of something new.
Sometimes what’s holding you back isn’t lack of ability.
It’s attachment to the familiar.
Moving forward requires release.
Release of old identity.
Release of old narratives.
Release of the version of you that survived but is no longer meant to lead.
Courage doesn’t always roar.
Sometimes it whispers, “Go anyway.”
Soulful truth:
You don’t need certainty.
You need alignment.
Forward movement doesn’t have to be loud.
It just has to be intentional.

Finding the courage to move forward is a deeply personal and often challenging journey that many of us face at various points in life. From my experience, the most profound growth happens not when we feel fully prepared but when we choose to step forward despite uncertainty. The idea that "ready is a myth" resonates strongly, as waiting for the perfect moment often leads to stagnation rather than progress. Throughout my journey, I've realized that courage is a practice rather than a feeling. Moments like applying for a new job even with self-doubt, leaving behind situations or people that no longer serve you, or speaking your truth when your confidence wavers are all acts of bravery in daily life. These acts, although sometimes quiet and subtle, are powerful moves towards alignment and growth. One key lesson is the importance of releasing old identities and narratives that keep us tethered to the past. This release is not easy, but it’s necessary to allow new versions of ourselves to emerge and lead. It's about acknowledging the survival mechanisms that served us once but now hold us back. In this space, I’ve found guidance in spiritual reassurances such as the verse from Deuteronomy 31:6: "Be strong and courageous...for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." This reminds me that courage is supported by faith and that we are not alone in our journey. Furthermore, courage doesn't always manifest as a loud declaration—it often whispers, "Go anyway," encouraging us to take intentional steps forward. This aligns perfectly with the understanding that forward movement doesn't require certainty but rather alignment with our values and goals. In everyday life, embracing this soulful truth fosters resilience and openness to new opportunities. It encourages looking beyond fear as a barrier and viewing it instead as a threshold to expansion. With every courageous step, we honor those who moved before us, embody survival and growth, and actively shape a future rooted in intentional living and faith.
