Fat Girl Running 🫶🏼

After having a c section delivery in January I was unsure how I was going to heal my body. I worried that I wouldn’t be able to be myself anymore- that I wasn’t going to be strong like I once was.

While I was intermittent fasting since giving birth I was not exercising at all. Around the 4 month pp mark is when I began my fitness journey after I had defeated old binge eating habits and learned how to nourish my body when it actually needed to be fed.

Walking walking walking. That’s how I started. 60 minutes, 5 days of the week. It has become my sanctuary and there’s nothing that gets me more energized than spending the mornings outside and getting my sweat on.

I’ve just recently started to “run/walk” a few times out of the week and as a running hater who wants to love running, I cannot wait to see progress in my mental health and my body. This is a journey that has been worth waiting for.

My essentials for a good long walk or run are:🏃‍♀️

Biker shorts!🩳

Sports bra! (Duh)🙈

Water! (Hydration)💦

My Gooder sunglasses!🕶️

My Apple Watch!⌚️

Hoka running shoes!👟

... Read moreThe journey to fitness is unique for everyone, particularly for those navigating the postpartum phase. Engaging in physical activity like walking and running has many benefits, including improved mental health, better body image, and increased physical strength. Starting gradually, as I did, can help prevent injury and promote sustainability in your routine. In addition to walking and run/walking, consider incorporating varied workouts such as strength training and yoga to enhance your fitness journey. These exercises not only build muscle but can also greatly improve flexibility and mindfulness. As you embrace this adventure, don't forget the importance of proper hydration and nutrition. When we nourish our bodies effectively, we are giving ourselves the best chance to succeed in our fitness goals. Stay connected with communities, both online and offline, to share experiences and gain support. Ultimately, every step taken, regardless of speed, is a step towards health and self-acceptance. So lace up your Hoka shoes, grab your Apple Watch, and let the world be your workout space!
