Trying out some new markers :)
- On my recent homegoods run I found some of these markers and wanted to try them out myself! -They retail for $14.99 and the brand is rainbow creations. They are double sided which is a bonus! -The color options for a 48 pack were very limited lots of the same shades! But most of the color offerings were gorgeous!
- They did not blend as well as I would of liked but they do draw very nicely :)
- Thank you for joining me! xx
Finding good quality yet affordable art supplies can feel like a treasure hunt, especially when you're on the lookout for specific items like 'rainbow alcohol markers' or 'dual-tip markers near me'. I recently stumbled upon the Rainbow Creations 48-pack dual alcohol markers during a homegoods run, and since I'm always keen to try new tools for my art, I decided to give them a thorough test. For just $14.99, a 48-pack seemed like a steal, and the promise of 'dual-sided alcohol markers' for versatile strokes was definitely appealing. After getting them home, the first thing I did was an 'alcohol markers test' by creating a full set of 'swatches'. This is always my go-to for really seeing what a new set of markers can do. The case itself was clear and well-organized, making it easy to see all 48 markers. While the brand is Rainbow Creations, which sounds vibrant, I did notice that there were 'limited color options' in terms of unique hues – a lot of the shades felt quite similar, almost like having multiple versions of the same color. However, I must say, the individual 'pretty colors' themselves were quite lovely. They were bright and saturated, which is fantastic for adding a pop of color to any 'coloring and illustration' project. Now, onto the performance. One of the main points I noted was their 'poor blending' capabilities. Compared to some higher-end alcohol markers, achieving smooth gradients was a bit of a challenge. If you’re looking for seamless color transitions, these might require a bit more finessing or a different approach. However, despite the blending issue, they 'draw nicely'. For crisp lines, bold fills, and general coloring, they lay down color smoothly without streaking too much. The dual-tip feature, with a fine point on one end and a chisel tip on the other, was incredibly useful for switching between detailed work and broader strokes, which is a major plus for any 'alcohol marker drawings'. My 'overall rating 7/10' for these Rainbow Creations markers reflects their strengths and weaknesses. They offer fantastic value for the price, especially for beginners or casual artists who want to experiment with alcohol markers without breaking the bank. If you're wondering 'where here' to find budget-friendly options, keeping an eye out in general craft or home goods stores can often yield surprising finds like these. They're a great entry point for exploring the world of vibrant colors, even if they're not ideal for advanced blending techniques. Given their accessibility and the sheer number of colors you get, they make a wonderful addition to any art enthusiast's collection, perfect for adding cheerful hues to your next creative session.
