Is it cheaper to run AC 24/7 or turn it on at nite

I’ve seen elsewhere that turning your AC on and off is more expensive than just leaving it on. The thing is, I’m assuming the people turning it on and off are doing it all day. That is not my situation.

I don’t feel the need for AC during the day, but my apartment is an inferno at night and I need cold to sleep. So what I do is turn it on at like 9 PM, and let it go until I wake up at 6 or 7 AM. And that’s it. Is that still more expensive than just letting it go all the time? Idk how this stuff works, if it’s even possible for anyone to know, or if there is a way for me to figure this out on my own so any info would be great!
