Yours to Claim ❌
Look, I’m always for the love interests who are genuinely awful. But for some reason in this story I absolutely could not get behind the MCs choice. It was clear early on who it would be, I definitely knew who end game was. And the fact that I knew he was going to choose the wrong guy made me keep reading it because I had to know how the hell that choice came about. I genuinely can’t believe I was rooting for the nicer of the two guys. I also just feel like there wasn’t any real solid reason for the MC to choose the guy he did. 😫

Reading 'Yours to Claim' was a rollercoaster of emotions, especially because I found myself rooting for the more considerate love interest, only to be disappointed by the MC’s final decision. This manhwa does an excellent job of setting up tension between two very different romantic options, which adds depth to the storyline even if frustrating. One aspect that stuck with me was the lack of a convincing motive for the MC’s choice. In many romance stories, character decisions are driven by clear emotional growth or revelations. Here, however, the MC’s choice seemed almost arbitrary, which made me question the development of his feelings and the narrative’s message about relationships and loyalty. What truly heightened my engagement was the anticipation of understanding how the MC would end up with who he did; it felt like the story was challenging me to see things from a different perspective. Despite the initial aversion, this experience reminded me how important it is for stories to evoke strong reactions and keep readers invested, even if it means rooting for the 'wrong' choice. Additionally, the story touches on themes common in #bl and #blmanhwa genres, such as complicated love triangles and imperfect characters, making it a notable read for fans looking for something that breaks usual tropes. It’s a good reminder that not every love story in these genres follows a predictable path, and sometimes, the discomfort we feel as readers adds to the richness of the experience.
