At 22, balancing the responsibilities of raising a toddler while still navigating my own growth was overwhelming at times. One memorable struggle was with my son’s dislike for car seats, which made everyday trips more stressful but taught me patience and problem-solving skills I wouldn’t trade for anything. Despite not having everything figured out, the desire to provide a better future for my son motivated me to return to school. This decision was not an easy one; managing family commitments alongside studies demanded unyielding commitment and support. There were moments I nearly gave up, weighed down by life’s pressures, but encouragement from my family kept me moving forward. Graduating after nine months of diligent effort was a proud moment that proved perseverance truly pays off. Shortly after, I secured my first job as a Medical Assistant at an OB/GYN office—a rewarding position where I worked for six years. This role not only gave me professional experience but deepened my empathy and understanding of women's health. Along the way, getting my driver’s license on the third try was a minor yet relatable victory, reminding me that setbacks are just stepping stones. Sharing this personal timeline reminds me how growth is rarely linear. It’s shaped by both hardships and successes. For anyone on a similar journey, know that every small victory matters and seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. 2016 showed me that embracing challenges with resilience and hope can transform your life in ways you never imagined.
