Once cooked- add 1.5 cup orzo
Add 2 cups of chicken broth + Bring to a boil
Once at a boil / cover and reduce to simmer for 8 minutes
Add 1 cup heavy cream
Add spinach (add a lot because it cooks down)
Keep on simmering and let spinach cook down Once done- add cheese on top
I recently tried this one-pan chicken orzo recipe and loved how straightforward it was to prepare, making it perfect for busy weeknight dinners. Starting with olive oil in the pan allows for a nice sear on the diced chicken breast, which I seasoned with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and garlic paste to boost the flavors. When the chicken was cooked, adding orzo directly to the pan along with chicken broth made it simple to cook everything together, and simmering with a lid on for about 8 minutes helped the pasta absorb all the savory broth. One of my favorite parts was stirring in the heavy cream after the orzo cooked. This step adds a rich creaminess to the dish that complements the tender chicken and pasta beautifully. Adding plenty of fresh spinach was also a great choice since it cooks down quickly, incorporating a vibrant pop of green and a healthy boost of nutrients. Finally, topping the dish with shredded parmesan cheese brought a lovely salty finish that tied all the flavors together. This recipe stands out because it doesn't require multiple pots and pans, reducing cleanup time while still delivering impressive taste. Using orzo as the pasta gives the dish a unique texture compared to traditional pasta, and the chicken broth base enhances its depth of flavor. This meal can easily be customized by swapping in different greens like kale or adding mushrooms for extra earthiness. Overall, this chicken orzo is a versatile and satisfying dinner option that’s great for anyone who loves easy recipes with a creamy, cheesy finish. It’s perfect for comforting family meals or even meal prepping for the week. I highly recommend trying it with fresh parmesan on top and a sprinkle of extra Italian seasoning for an elevated touch. If you enjoy simple yet flavorful dishes, this one-pan chicken orzo recipe is definitely worth making.
