Top things to do in Alaska 2025

As a local, I have found all the BEST spots to go not only during the summer, but also the winter in Alaska. 🏔️ ❄️

If you are a hiker and love the outdoors and beautiful scenery, here are my top hikes:

If you’re a foodie and like to try local cuisine, then here are the best restaurants known for for quality food in Alaska:

- Glacier Brewhouse

- 49th State Brewery

- Simon and Seaforts

- Shushi Ya

- Orso

- Gumbo House

Alaska is truly one of the best places to visit and I highly recommend seeing all of these places if you can!

For winter, consider ice skating on Portage Lake or fishing at Mirror Lake, Lake Otis, and the Russian River, which are popular for fly fishing. In the summer, hiking options like Flat Top, Little O’Malley, and Reed Lakes provide breathtaking views and a chance to connect with nature. Biking around Eklutna Lake is another fantastic way to enjoy the scenery. Additionally, for unique experiences, find a spot to watch the sunset at Point Woronzof or observe adventurous surfers and paragliders at Kink Inlet. If you're traveling on a budget, enjoy exploring various parks and trails without breaking the bank. Alaska's charm lies not only in its landscapes but also in its vibrant local culture, making it an unforgettable destination for travelers in 2025.
