When building traps for flying creatures like Argentavis or Griffins in Ark Survival, using stone pillars and ceilings is a practical and affordable method. Based on my experience, placing 16 stone pillars set two high and connecting them with 9 ceilings forms a compact enclosure where you can easily herd and trap these creatures. The trick is to strategically place the pillars so that the flying mount can enter but cannot exit once inside. For example, snapping stone pillars tightly in the middle of ceilings creates narrow gaps that block winged creatures from escaping. This method avoids the need for expensive or complicated materials and works particularly well in the Boreal Forest Zone where these creatures are frequently found. Once the trap structure is ready, you can aggro the Griffin or Argentavis to fly into the trap. The high placement of ceilings limits vertical movement, ensuring the mount remains confined. If you have a Baby Ovis or similar distraction, placing it near the trap entrance can lure your target inside effortlessly. From my gameplay, the key to success lies in patience and precision snapping of pillars and ceilings, ensuring all gaps are sealed tightly without blocking your own path. This easy and cheap trapping design can be a game-changer for tamers and warriors alike, enabling safer capture and resource gathering with minimal resource expenditure. Remember to keep an eye on the creature's aggression level and always be prepared to defend your trap.
