... Read moreOkay, you asked for it! It's time to dive a little deeper than just surface-level facts and share some of the truly weird and wonderfully unique things that make me, well, me! I’ve seen a lot of "get to know me" posts, but I promise to throw in some genuinely quirky tidbits that might surprise you, or at least make you chuckle.
First up, being a Boy Momma. Most people picture endless energy and dirt, which is true! But the weirdest part? I’ve become an accidental expert in things I never imagined. Like, I can now identify almost any dinosaur by its silhouette, and I have an encyclopedic knowledge of various superhero backstories. My house is a permanent wrestling ring, and I’ve learned to appreciate the subtle art of a well-timed fart joke. It's a chaotic, beautiful mess, and honestly, I wouldn't trade the daily wrestling matches and impromptu science experiments for anything.
Then there's the MSW Student life. You might think it's all serious textbooks and deep discussions, and it is! But my weirdest student habit? I can only write papers late at night, fueled by cold coffee and the quiet hum of the washing machine. My brain seems to activate best between 11 PM and 2 AM. Plus, I've developed a strange fascination with obscure psychological theories that probably don't apply to anyone but make for great dinner party conversation starters (or stoppers, depending on the crowd!).
Being a total Dog person comes with its own quirks. My dog isn't just a pet; she’s practically my shadow. I have full-blown conversations with her, complete with different voices for her "replies." I also have a weird knack for remembering every dog I’ve ever met's name, but ask me what I had for breakfast yesterday? Nope. And yes, my camera roll is 90% pictures of my dog in various adorable, silly, or sleepy poses.
As a Bookworm, I have some confessions. I almost always have at least three books going at once – a physical book, an audiobook for walks, and an e-book for waiting in line. My reading tastes are also pretty eclectic; one day it's a dense historical fiction, the next it's a cheesy romance novel, followed by a true crime exposé. My weirdest reading spot? Definitely in the pantry, hiding from my kids for five minutes of uninterrupted bliss with a good story!
My Sweet tooth isn't just for classic desserts. While I love a good chocolate chip cookie, my secret, weird pleasure is dipping French fries into a milkshake. Don't knock it till you try it! I also have a hidden stash of gummy candies in my desk drawer that only I know about. It’s my little emergency sugar supply for those days when life demands a quick pick-me-up.
And finally, my Love being Outdoors. You'd think that's pretty normal, right? But my weird outdoor habit is collecting oddly shaped rocks or cool-looking leaves. My pockets are often full of nature's treasures, much to my family's amusement when they do the laundry. I’m also obsessed with finding the perfect spot to just sit and observe nature, sometimes for hours, completely lost in thought, trying to identify every bird call or rustle in the bushes.
Beyond these, here are a couple of truly random ones:
I can crack almost every joint in my body on command, which freaks people out.
I have a strange aversion to uneven numbers when setting the volume on my TV or car radio – it always has to be an even number!
So there you have it! A peek into the quirky, sometimes strange, but always authentic me. What about you? Do you have any delightfully weird habits or facts that make you uniquely you? I’d love to hear them!
