Small tattoo tour!

This isn’t all of my tattoos, just bits and pieces of my patchwork sleeve as it’s been coming together!

This arm is kind of… dedicated? to the media that shaped me and the things that built me as a person. Here’s what’s on it so far:

• A triple spiral — to connect me to my faith and heritage

• A crow skull — dedicated to the Morrigan

• Random flash of a melted skull from my mentor

• A death moth

• Irish Gaeilge for my grandmother and sister, who passed

• The Ghostbusters logo

• A flip phone that says “come to silent hill”

• A stem of flowers wrapping around the back of my forearm

• A daisy — for my partner

• A mask from Bioshock

• The One Ring around my elbow

• Majora’s Mask

• A sword with lyrics from Francesca by Hozier

• The Goosebumps logo

I have SO many plans for this arm still, but I genuinely love it so far.

... Read moreTattoos are a fascinating way to express our personal journeys and values, and a patchwork sleeve brings together diverse elements into a cohesive narrative. When I began designing this sleeve, I wanted each tattoo to represent something meaningful to me, whether it was cultural, spiritual, or tied to my favorite media influences. One of my favorite pieces is the triple spiral, a symbol deeply rooted in Celtic tradition representing the connection between past, present, and future, as well as my faith and Irish heritage. Including the crow skull dedicated to the Morrigan further ties into my interest in Irish pagan symbolism, blending mythology and spirituality. These tattoos feel like permanent reminders of my roots and beliefs. I also chose tattoos inspired by media that shaped my personality and memories, such as the Ghostbusters logo—evoking nostalgia and a sense of fun—and the mask from Bioshock, which I appreciate for its artistic storytelling. The flip phone with "come to silent hill" is a subtle nod to horror classics that fascinated me growing up. I love how these images on my arm act as conversation starters about my interests. Incorporating meaningful words in Irish Gaeilge penned for my grandmother and sister who passed is a deeply personal tribute, blending language and memory in a way that feels intimate and healing. Similarly, the daisy tattoo is a symbol of my relationship with my partner, grounding the sleeve in present love. The inclusion of the One Ring around my elbow and Majora’s Mask honor my connection to fantasy literature and gaming culture, while a sword inked with lyrics from Francesca by Hozier ties music into the narrative. This patchwork is ongoing, as I still have many ideas to complete the story of who I am through ink. If you’re considering a patchwork sleeve or choosing tattoos with deep meaning, I recommend reflecting on symbols and stories that truly resonate with your identity and experiences. Each tattoo can be like a chapter in your personal storybook worn with pride. The key is to ensure every piece feels authentically you and sparks joy or remembrance every time you look at it.
