Lust is the number 2 killer of most men

Lust is the number 2 killer of most men

And I wanna be 1000% honest on this app. I still have random moments lust hit me hard

But I will never be okay with living in it completely ever again

I’m growing and I’m glowing. Nothing will stop this ride with Christ

Not the prettiest face

Not the fattest cheeks

Not the best breasts

... Read moreIt's a tough topic, but one that many of us, especially as A MAN, wrestle with daily: the grip of lust. My original post touched on my personal journey, but I want to dive a little deeper into what I've learned about controlling and truly breaking free from it. It's not just a fleeting thought; sometimes, it feels like an obsession, and it's something that can truly feel like 'IT'S KILLING OUR COMMUNITY' from the inside out, affecting our relationships and our peace. One of the biggest eye-openers for me was realizing the true 'dangers of lust'. It promises instant gratification, a temporary high, but it often leads us 'FURTHER AWAY FROM' genuine connection and what 'WHAT LOVE IS'. Instead, we end up 'PLEASURES FALLING IN LOVE WITH PLEASURE' itself, instead of true, fulfilling love. This isn't just about physical desire; it’s about a mindset that says 'EVERYTHING YOU WANT AIN'T LOVE.' It’s a pursuit that leaves you empty, never satisfied. So, how do we, as men, truly control lust when it hits hard? For me, it has been a profound journey 'TO CHRIST AND' focusing on spiritual growth. It's not about suppressing desires, but redirecting them and understanding their root. I've found that practical steps, combined with faith, make a huge difference. Firstly, identify your triggers. What situations, emotions, or content tend to spark those thoughts? Once you know, you can start building boundaries. Secondly, find accountability. Talk to a trusted friend, mentor, or spiritual leader. Having someone to share your struggles with makes you less isolated and more likely to overcome. Thirdly, immerse yourself in something greater. For me, it's my faith. Focusing on prayer, scripture, and service helps shift my focus from self-gratification to a higher purpose. This is where you truly become 'BETTER WITH CHRIST'. Healing through lust isn't a quick fix; it's a process of rediscovering 'THAT'S WHAT LOVING YOURSELF REALLY MEAN'. It means valuing your mind, body, and spirit enough to protect them from things that diminish you. It's about building a life so rich in purpose and genuine connections that the fleeting allure of lust loses its power. Understanding 'what is lust according to the bible' has also provided a strong foundation, showing that true freedom comes from aligning with a higher standard of love and respect for oneself and others. It's a continuous battle, but with intention and spiritual strength, it's absolutely possible to find lasting freedom and peace.
