Foot arch pain exercise

Pain along the inside of your foot or arch when you walk or train?

This isn’t just “flat feet.”

A key stabilizer called the tibialis posterior tendon helps control pronation and supports your medial arch. Over time, especially in adulthood, this tendon can weaken and lose its ability to do its job. When that happens, the arch collapses and pain shows up along the inside of the foot and ankle.

Instead of only stretching or relying on inserts, this tendon needs progressive loading.

One simple place to start is a single-leg heel raise. Press through the big toe as you rise and control the way your heel lowers. This helps activate the tibialis posterior and the small stabilizing muscles of the foot during weight-bearing.
