Honest Review of Factor Meals

I’ve been trying out a meal delivery service and…while the flavors are honestly great, and it’s super convenient, I’ve got mixed feelings.

The amount of plastic packaging is a bit overwhelming, and I really wish there was more flexibility with choosing or removing the sides. As someone who enjoys cooking and likes spending time in the kitchen, I don’t think this service is the best fit for me long-term.

@That said, if you’re someone who doesn’t love to cook or just needs an easy, no-fuss way to stay on track with meals, this could actually be a great option for you to look into!

... Read moreBuilding on my initial thoughts about Factor Meals, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into why this service might or might not be a game-changer for you. My main takeaway remains: it’s incredibly convenient and the food generally tastes great, but it’s not without its drawbacks. Let's talk more about the pros first. Beyond just saving time, Factor Meals truly simplifies healthy eating. Each meal is chef-prepared and designed to be nutritionally balanced, which is perfect if you’re tracking macros or trying to stick to a specific diet like Keto, Calorie Smart, or even Vegan & Veggie. This takes all the guesswork out of meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking – a huge relief on those hectic weekdays. I also found the portion sizes to be quite satisfying, hitting that sweet spot between feeling full and not overeating. For anyone who struggles with consistent healthy eating due to a busy schedule, Factor can be a real lifeline. Just pop it in the microwave, and you’re good to go in minutes, which is far faster and healthier than ordering takeout. Now, for the *cons*, and I know many of you share my concern about packaging. When that Factor delivery box arrives at your doorstep, it’s hard not to notice the sheer amount of plastic that comes with it. Each meal is individually sealed, and there are additional plastic containers for sauces or sides, plus the insulation and ice packs in the box itself. While they do offer some recycling guidance, it still feels excessive, and I often wish for more eco-friendly alternatives. Another point of contention for me was the flexibility. While Factor offers a rotating menu and various plans, I found it hard to customize individual meals. For example, if there was a side I wasn't keen on, or if I wanted double the protein, there wasn't an easy way to adjust it. This can be a minor annoyance if you have very specific preferences or allergies not covered by their pre-set options. Also, while convenient, the cost per meal can add up, especially compared to cooking from scratch, so it's a budget consideration for sure. So, who is Factor Meals really for? I'd say it's ideal for busy professionals, new parents, or anyone looking for a convenient way to maintain a healthy diet without sacrificing taste or spending hours in the kitchen. If you love to cook and enjoy the process of meal prep, you might find it a bit restrictive like I did for long-term use. But as a short-term solution, or for those weeks when life gets exceptionally crazy, it’s definitely a solid option. It’s all about weighing the convenience and quality against the environmental impact and cost for your personal lifestyle.
