A Course In Miracles Lesson 67

What if the truth about me was never damaged in the first place?

Love created me like itself.

🌿 Today’s idea is a complete and accurate statement of what I am.

That can feel distant during re-entry, when the mind is crowded with old labels, numbers, and memories of mistakes.

I have been trained to see myself through those images.

Along the MovingStill path, I am learning they are only images — interpretations I laid over the truth.

I do not have to fight them.

I only have to look past them.

My reality is unchanged and unchangeable.

If Love created me, then I must be like Love.

What creates like itself does not produce opposites.

Holiness created me holy.

Kindness created me kind.

Wholeness created me whole.

When I walk into my community or go to my job, I do not have to prove my worth through effort.

I only have to stop believing the ego’s version of me.

The truth about me does not replace the ego’s story; it exposes it as empty.

I do not have to manufacture worth.

I do not have to repair what was never broken.

I only have to withdraw belief from what was never true.

As that belief loosens, the truth does not need to shout. It simply remains.

My goal today is not self-improvement.

It is recognition.

I am not fixing a damaged identity; I am accepting that the identity Love created was never damaged.

This is not about being better than anyone.

It is about remembering that what I am is already established.

From that remembrance, peace extends naturally.

Love created me like itself.

I am MovingStill.

In my personal experience, repeating the affirmation "Love created me like itself" multiple times throughout the day helps to gently dislodge the habitual negative self-images formed by past experiences, mistakes, or the ego’s critical voice. It’s common to get caught up in self-judgment, especially when returning to daily routines after a spiritual retreat or meditation session, which the lesson refers to as "re-entry." During these times, our minds may feel cluttered with old labels and feelings of imperfection. But Lesson 67 reminds us that these are merely overlays — constructs we have placed over our true self. The true self, created by love, remains unchanged and perfect beneath any illusions. I found it incredibly helpful to deliberately practice moments of thoughtlessness or stillness, allowing the mind's chatter to pause. This creates a space where the deeper truth about ourselves can shine through as a kind of inner light or peaceful presence. The practice is not about self-improvement or fixing anything but about recognition and acceptance. It’s about withdrawing belief from the damaging stories spun by the ego and resting in the peace of what is already true. Consistently inviting this perspective influences how we interact with others, whether in community or at work. When you stop trying to prove your worth through effort or external validation, you experience a profound sense of ease. The lesson’s teaching that holiness, kindness, helpfulness, and other loving qualities are innate and created by the same love that created us helps to foster greater compassion for ourselves and others. The practice also involves consciously repeating these truths several times per hour to counteract the ego’s false narratives. This repeated hearing of the truth from what A Course In Miracles calls the "Voice for God" can gradually weaken the grip of false self-images and bring greater alignment with our true nature. Ultimately, Lesson 67 invites a shift in identity—from seeing ourselves as separate, flawed individuals to recognizing that we are expressions of divine love, already whole, holy, and perfect as created. This recognition is a powerful source of ongoing healing, peace, and spiritual freedom.
