A Course In Miracles Lesson 69

My grievances hide the light of the world in me.

🌿 Today I am simply noticing how grievances dim my vision.

When I hold onto anger or judgment, everything feels heavier.

I tense.

I rehearse.

I defend.

And in that state, I cannot see clearly — not myself, not others.

The light in me has not gone anywhere.

It has not been damaged or reduced.

A grievance is only a thought I keep replaying.

It acts like a filter, not a fact.

When I set it down, even briefly, something softens.

The world looks less threatening.

I feel less guarded.

I do not have to force the light to return.

I only have to become willing to release what blocks my view.

The grievance is something I made.

The light is what I am.

Letting go is not loss — it is relief.

My goal today is gentle honesty.

Where am I still holding something against someone?

Where am I still holding something against myself?

I am willing to see that these thoughts are something I have been choosing to keep.

My grievances hide the light of the world in me.

I cannot see what I have hidden.

I am willing to let it be shown to me.

I am MovingStill.

Read moreReflecting on the message that "My grievances hide the light of the world in me," I have found this idea profoundly transformative in my personal journey toward emotional healing and spiritual growth. Often, I discovered that when I held onto feelings of resentment or judgment—whether towards others or myself—my perception became clouded and my emotional energy felt heavy and tense. It was as if I was carrying an unseen barrier that dimmed the natural brightness within me. What helped me was the conscious decision to recognize these grievances as recurring thoughts rather than undeniable facts. This shift allowed me to view grievances as mental filters that distort my vision rather than truths that define my reality. I realized that setting aside these burdens, even momentarily, created space for softness and relief. This experience reminded me that the light inside me never truly disappears; it is simply obscured by the mental habits of holding onto negativity. The practical part of this lesson involves approaching myself with gentle honesty—asking where I might still be harboring blame or anger, and then being willing to release those thoughts. This doesn’t mean denying feelings or pushing them away unhealthily but rather choosing to let go for the sake of inner peace and clearer vision. With this mindset, I noticed the world no longer appeared threatening, and interactions felt less guarded. Another important realization is that surrendering grievances is not a loss but a form of relief and liberation. The act of releasing doesn’t weaken me; instead, it restores my connection to the light and love that is my true nature. This grace becomes evident when I practice mindfulness, meditation, or simply pause amidst challenges to remind myself of this truth. For those engaged in spiritual healing practices or exploring concepts like those in A Course In Miracles, integrating this lesson can support profound personal transformation. It invites us to ‘‘reach out and touch’’ the light within, brush aside the clouds of anger and judgment, and embrace the calm certainty that healing and salvation are accessible when we align our will with divine love. In summary, Lesson 69 offers a compassionate reminder that grievances are self-imposed veils that hide our inner light. By choosing to release them, we reclaim clarity, peace, and spiritual freedom. This practice is an ongoing journey of willingness and honesty, but the results—a lighter heart and a brighter vision—are deeply rewarding.
