🌿 I am seeing how quickly I assume something can harm me — a situation, a person, a memory. That assumption shapes everything that follows. Today challenges that at the root.
Review III — Lessons 107–108
🧩 (L107) Truth will correct all errors in my mind.
I have believed my thoughts reflect reality. But many of them are built on fear and assumption. When I allow truth to correct them, I don’t have to fight each thought individually. The foundation shifts.
🧩 (L108) To give and to receive are one in truth.
I used to think giving and receiving were separate — that I could protect myself by withholding. But when I forgive, I feel the shift immediately. What I extend returns, not as a concept, but as an experience.
... Read moreIn my personal journey with A Course In Miracles, Lesson 119 has offered a powerful reminder of how our assumptions about harm shape our entire perception of reality. The idea that "truth will correct all errors in my mind" invites us to challenge the fearful and mistaken beliefs that cloud our thinking. This lesson encourages us not only to recognize those errors but to allow a deeper truth to reshape our mindset entirely.
When I began practicing this lesson, I noticed that the fear of being hurt—whether by others or circumstances—often blocks my ability to see situations clearly. Simply acknowledging that these fears are not reflective of ultimate truth helped me reduce anxiety and react more calmly.
Equally transformative is the lesson that "to give and to receive are one in truth." Initially, I saw giving and receiving as separate acts, often guarded to protect myself. However, through forgiveness and openness, I experienced how giving freely creates a flow that returns to me in meaningful ways, altering my relationships and self-perception.
I also found the practice of repeating these truths on the hour and half-hour to be a grounding technique, as suggested in the course's reading for Lesson 119. This continual reminder interrupts negative thought patterns and grounds me in a more loving, unified awareness.
For anyone navigating the challenges of forgiveness and the fear of being hurt, embracing these principles has been deeply healing. It helps to remember that as "God’s Son," our true self remains safe and untouched by external fears. This awareness empowers us to move beyond wounds and embrace a peaceful coexistence with ourselves and others.
