A Course In Miracles Lesson 174
I notice how often I think I need to acquire something that may already be present.

Lesson 174
God is but Love, and therefore so am I.
🌿 Much of my life has been spent searching.
Searching for understanding.
Searching for peace.
Searching for certainty.
The search itself can become so familiar that I stop asking what I'm searching for.
The lessons I am reviewing today point toward a surprising possibility.
That what I seek may be closer than I think.
🧩 (157) Into His Presence would I enter now.
This lesson reminds me that God's Presence is not a distant destination.
It is available now.
The barrier is not distance.
It is attention.
🧩 (158) Today I learn to give as I receive.
This lesson reveals that what is truly received naturally extends itself.
Giving and receiving are not opposites.
They are part of the same movement.
Together, these lessons point toward a Self that is already connected to its Source.
A Self that does not have to earn God's Presence.
A Self that remembers it by extending what it receives.
Today I'm paying attention to where I continue searching for what may already be here.
Where I treat connection as something to achieve instead of something to remember.
Not forcing certainty.
But becoming more willing to recognize what has never truly been absent.
God is but Love, and therefore so am I.
I am MovingStill.

Reflecting on Lesson 174 from A Course in Miracles really transformed my understanding of spiritual seeking. For a long time, I believed that peace, understanding, and certainty were external goals I needed to chase after, like distant treasures to acquire. This lesson helped me see that what I was seeking was already present within me — a profound realization that shifted how I experience my spiritual journey. The idea that "God is but Love, and therefore so am I" encourages me to release the exhausting quest and instead focus on my awareness or attention. It's like tuning into a frequency that is always there but often unnoticed. From personal experience, when I practice mindfulness and quiet my mind, I can sense this loving presence deeply — not as something I need to earn or achieve, but as my true nature. Another powerful insight comes from recognizing that giving and receiving are intertwined. I used to think giving required sacrifice and receiving meant accepting something passively. Now, I understand they flow together naturally. When I open myself to receive love, forgiveness, or help, I find myself more readily extending those gifts to others, creating a meaningful cycle that nurtures both myself and those around me. Embracing this practice helps me notice moments when I revert to searching for connection or certainty outside myself, and gently reminds me to remember that this connection has never truly been absent. It has simply been overlooked amid the busyness and distractions of daily life. This lesson offers a comforting reassurance that at any moment, by simply turning my attention inward with intention, I can enter into God's presence and experience peace. Incorporating these lessons into daily life enhances both spiritual growth and emotional well-being. It invites us to live from a place of love and presence rather than fear or lack. Through this renewed awareness, I find a deeper sense of home and belonging that is steadfast and freeing.
