A Course In Miracles Lesson 176
I notice how quickly I define myself through appearances, roles, and history.
Review V
Lesson 176
God is but Love, and therefore so am I.
🌿 Most of the ways I describe myself come from experience.
Things I've done.
Things that happened.
Roles I've carried.
Those descriptions have value.
But they are not the whole story.
Today’s review lessons point beyond those temporary identities.
🧩 (161) Give me your blessing, holy Son of God.
This lesson asks me to see others differently.
Not as symbols of fear, frustration, or judgment.
But as reflections of the same holiness I seek for myself.
🧩 (162) I am as God created me.
This lesson brings everything back to its foundation.
Whatever changes, this remains unchanged.
What God created has not been altered by experience.
Together, these lessons reveal a Self that is far deeper than the stories it tells about itself.
A Self that recognizes holiness in others because it has begun to recognize it within itself.
Today I'm paying attention to where I define myself by circumstances, labels, or history.
Where I forget the difference between what has happened to me and what I am.
Not rejecting my story.
But becoming more willing to remember what exists beyond it.
God is but Love, and therefore so am I.
I am MovingStill.

Reflecting on Lesson 176 of A Course In Miracles has personally deepened my understanding of how often I unconsciously tie my identity to my past experiences, roles, and the labels that society or I myself assign. This lesson beautifully reminds us that while these external markers have value, they do not define our true essence. The affirmation that "God is but Love, and therefore so am I" invites a transformative perspective shift. In daily life, I found myself caught up in judgements shaped by history or external situations, framing myself and others through a lens of fear or frustration. Lesson 176 encourages us to see beyond those surface-level definitions and recognize the holiness that exists within every person, including ourselves. This reminded me of times when I felt misunderstood or limited by my perceived roles, and by applying this teaching, I was able to release some of that self-imposed confinement and extend compassion more freely. The two core parts of the lesson—asking for others’ blessings and recognizing ourselves as God created us—have practical spiritual significance. When I focus on viewing others without fear or judgement, I notice a shift in my interactions that fosters peace and connection rather than conflict. Likewise, recognizing that my true Self remains untouched by my life’s many changes grounds me in stability and reinforces a sense of inherent worth. Integrating these insights into everyday practice encourages mindfulness about how I define myself. Am I relying too heavily on temporary roles or past narratives? Through meditation or journaling, I reflect on this and remind myself that the divine love within is constant. Ultimately, this lesson has helped me cultivate a more compassionate and loving relationship—not only with others but importantly with myself—by remembering that beneath all external identities, "God is but Love," and so am I. This acknowledgment is a powerful key toward personal peace and spiritual awakening.

be blessed thank you for your interaction
