A Course In Miracles Lesson 220
I notice how often I keep searching for something more, even after being shown where peace is found.
Lesson 220
There is no peace except the peace of God.
🌿 Every substitute for peace eventually asks more of me than it gives.
The world offers countless promises of fulfillment, yet none of them can quiet the heart for long. Real peace is not something I achieve or acquire. It is something I remember when I stop looking anywhere but God.
🧩 Every time I stop chasing what cannot satisfy, another piece of the puzzle settles into place. I begin to recognize that peace has never been waiting somewhere else. It has always been quietly present, waiting for my willingness to accept it.
Today I'm paying attention to the places where I expect circumstances, accomplishments, or approval to give me peace. Instead, I'm choosing to remember that the peace I seek has never left me because its Source has never left me.
There is no peace except the peace of God.
I am not a body. I am free.
For I am still as God created me.
I am MovingStill.

Reflecting on Lesson 220 of A Course In Miracles has profoundly deepened my understanding of peace. Often, I found myself chasing after achievements, approval, or external circumstances, hoping they would bring a lasting sense of calm. But as the lesson highlights, these substitutes ultimately demand more from me than they give, leaving a lingering restlessness. From personal experience, the moment I shifted my focus from the external to the divine source—the peace of God—was transformative. This peace is not something to be earned or acquired; rather, it is a state of remembering who I truly am beyond the physical form or worldly success. The affirmation "I am not a body. I am free." resonated deeply, reminding me that my essence is unchanging, created in the stillness and wholeness of God. One practical way I've embraced this lesson is by noticing when my mind starts to wander toward seeking validation or fulfillment in temporary things. Instead of following these urges, I gently redirect my attention inward, acknowledging the quiet presence of peace already residing within me. Over time, this practice has brought a comforting sense of stability and joy that no external event can shake. The puzzle analogy mentioned in the lesson truly captures my journey: every time I stop chasing endless distractions, another piece fits perfectly, revealing the bigger picture of spiritual wholeness. It’s an ongoing process that encourages patience and acceptance. I encourage others exploring this path to allow themselves moments of stillness and self-reflection, understanding that peace has never been lost—only temporarily forgotten. By embracing this truth, we open ourselves to the freedom and calm that comes from recognizing our divine nature. This lesson continues to inspire me to live with greater mindfulness and spiritual clarity each day.
