Why I DONT have a specific diet
When it comes to working out people usually ask what you eat, what your diets like, or tell you that you should eat specific foods. Due to a past ED I choose not to limit what I eat. I obviously don’t just eat sugary unhealthy foods all the time, but if i’m craving taco bell, mcdonald’s, or a sweet treat i’m gonna get some. If I want a dr pepper, i’m gonna have one. I feel if I was to restrict my diet it was cause me to develop and ED again so I try to avoid it at all cost!

Navigating the landscape of nutrition without strict dieting can be empowering. Many people who have struggled with eating disorders find that rigid diets may lead to unhealthy patterns. Instead of adhering to specific meal plans, it’s beneficial to foster a healthy relationship with food by allowing occasional indulgences. This concept aligns with intuitive eating, emphasizing personal food choices based on hunger and satisfaction rather than restrictions. Eating what you love, like fast food or a sweet treat, can provide emotional comfort and reduce cravings in the long term. Many fitness enthusiasts and health advocates are realizing that absolute restrictions can be detrimental not only physically but also psychologically. Thus, balancing enjoyment and health can create sustainable wellness. Studies suggest that embracing variety in your diet while prioritizing mental well-being leads to healthier lifestyles. It’s essential to create a culture around food that promotes joy and stability rather than guilt and shame. Engaging in open discussions about eating struggles can also help demystify the fear surrounding food, making it easier for others to find their comfort zones in dietary choices. Take time to explore what works for you personally, and remember, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition. Focusing on mindful eating can empower individuals to enjoy their meals guilt-free while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
