Who’s maining who?

Hey Valorant fam! After diving deep into Clove, I've been thinking a lot about who she truly shines with. She's such a unique agent, right? That Controller/Initiator hybrid style, being able to overheal herself with Pick-Me-Up and apply decay with Meddle, really opens up some cool strategies. I mean, is Clove the BEST agent? That's debatable, but she definitely makes for some exciting gameplay! From my personal experience climbing ranks, Clove truly excels when she has teammates who can either capitalize on her aggressive pushes or protect her while she's setting up. Her Ruse smokes are fantastic for blocking vision, but she often needs someone to go in first or follow up quickly. Let's talk about some agents I've found to be incredible partners for Clove: 1. Aggressive Duelists (Raze, Jett, Reyna): These agents are my go-to for Clove. When I drop Ruse to block off common angles, a Raze can instantly nade or a Jett can dash through, creating chaos. Clove can then follow up, using her Meddle to decay enemies hiding in corners, making them easy picks for the Duelist. And if I get traded, my ultimate, Not Dead Yet, allows me to come back, which is just insane for maintaining map control. It's all about that aggressive entry and trading! 2. Information Initiators (Fade, Sova, Skye): Knowing where enemies are is half the battle, especially with Clove's aggressive kit. A Fade Haunt or Sova Recon Bolt can clear out areas before I even place my smokes. This allows me to confidently push certain spots or use my Meddle more effectively. Imagine a Fade Haunt revealing three enemies, then I drop Meddle, and my team pushes in. The decay effect combined with their revealed positions is just deadly. Skye's flashes are also great for Clove to push off of. 3. Supportive Sentinels (Cypher, Killjoy): While Clove is often pushing, having a solid backline is crucial. Cypher's setups or Killjoy's turrets and Nanoswarms are fantastic for watching flanks or locking down a site post-plant. This lets Clove focus more on the entry or mid-round skirmishes without worrying too much about being flanked. If we're holding a site, Clove's Meddle can slow down a push, allowing Killjoy to drop a Nanoswarm for even more decay and area denial. Plus, her Pick-Me-Up can help me stay in the fight longer after taking damage, supporting the sentinel's hold. 4. Complementary Controllers (Omen, Astra): Sometimes, more smokes are just better! An Omen can provide additional versatile smokes or even a blind, allowing Clove to save her Ruse for crucial moments. Astra's stars offer incredible global presence and can set up devastating plays with Clove's Meddle. For example, an Astra Gravity Well followed by Clove's Meddle can trap and decay enemies, making them super vulnerable. It feels like we're almost overhealing with coordinated utility!
