Grandfather Deka (or great-grandfather Teaka) is sacred and ancestral according to local beliefs in southern Thailand, particularly in the Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat provinces, which have long been revered by Thai Buddhists and Thai Muslims in the area.
According to a local legend, the great-grandfather of Tika Table was originally a male Thai Muslim who lived in the neighborhood. He is thought to have lived or had a story that lasted more than 250 years.
In the past, relatives brought his body for burial, which later became the area of the Temple of the Buffalo Yard, Sai Buri, Pattani). When descendants would dig the body out for a ceremony at the Gubor (Muslim Cemetery), there were often miracles or events that led to the original burial place, becoming sacred to the popular temple.
The story of the elders says that the reason why he is called "Great Deka" is because he often appears in the dreams of the villagers with a mild and unique glyphs, which the villagers describe as "Deka" (or an ancient glyphs similar to the glyphs of the Langkans or Zila glyphs), if anyone comes to the court and speaks to him successfully, but "forgets to defend," he goes to his dreams and makes Deka a reminder, and it becomes a well-known story among his children.
In 2013, it was said that great-grandfather Deka appeared in the vision of his father Son Tissro (former abbot of the Buffalo Yard Temple) and the villagers, saying that he would help fund the church and develop the temple. After a while, a wonderful thing happened, when the villagers from all over the community came to wish, they quickly succeeded in their hopes, causing a wave of faith to merit and create a great-grandfather.
