Great show last night!!
Wow, Toledo! What an absolutely killer night at Frankie's! If you were there for the punk show, you know exactly what I'm talking about. As Mr. Red Beard, I spend a lot of time spinning tracks and hosting 'Name That Tune' events, but there's nothing quite like the raw energy of a live punk show. Last night was a perfect example of why the Toledo punk scene is thriving. The lineup was stacked, and every band brought their A-game. Kicking things off, we had the incredible B-PLOT, who immediately set the tone with their high-octane performance. Their stage presence was infectious, getting the crowd warmed up and ready for what was to come. Then NOPLACE hit the stage, delivering a set that was both powerful and tight. You could feel the passion in every riff and drumbeat. Sick Veans followed, and their unique sound really captivated everyone. The blue spotlights and purple lights highlighted the intensity of their performance, making the whole experience feel immersive. It’s always great to see bands experimenting and pushing boundaries, and Sick Veans definitely did that. The Hounds of Montgomery brought a different flavor, with their classic punk vibe and catchy tunes that had everyone singing along. The audience was fully engaged, dancing and crowd-surfing, just as the images hinted at – pure, unadulterated punk rock chaos! And finally, The Old Breed closed out the night with an unforgettable set. Their experience shone through, delivering a powerful performance that left everyone wanting more. Seeing the female bassist shredding alongside the male guitarists really showcased the diverse talent in the scene. Frankie's provided the perfect intimate setting for such an explosive night, allowing everyone to get up close and personal with the bands. Being a DJ, I appreciate the artistry and dedication that goes into live music, and last night’s event was a masterclass in punk rock performance. It’s these kinds of 'latest' events that truly make Toledo a hub for incredible music.
