Help me design my perfect boy & girl bedroom

Bed styles inspiration: Thomas already has a black bed frame from @IKEA so no need to reinvent the wheel there. I love my duvet insert and cover from @Parachute Home. I got similar green sheets to the inspo from @Brooklinen. I now need throw pillows.

I'm thinking a berry/maroon color to tie it into my color scheme more? But maybe I need more light colors on the bed. While I like the light wood in the inspo photo I think I want walnut more. I'm obsessed with the walnut dresser options from@thuma.co

@West Elm and @AllModern. Still on the hunt for the perfect walnut night stands. We don't want them to be too big. I also want them to be matching. I'm not confident the room is big enough for a bed bench but look at her!! She's beautiful! Will I be spending 4K on a bed bench...no. But a girl can dream. I like the rug from @Ruggable but I wish it was all the darker color.

I think the pink has potential to bring the room more lightness but not sold yet. I am also on the hunt for a makeup vanity. This one is from @Wayfair. It has the most storage so far that is also wide enough to be a desk in my budget. I have a lot of makeup so I need to have space for all of it!

Lighting choices: I love that lamp from @Etsy but it's doesn't come in the maroon color I want. I'm on the hunt for similar options. I feel like I could find something similar thrifting. I also don't think a lamp is a need to have on move in day so we have some time.

Decoration ideas: @Anthropologie mirror...enough said. I've been wanting it for so long, I feel like it's time. I love the functional chess decor. Thomas wants to make it himself so he can make a really cool chess move. I'm excited to help him. I also like the idea of a small gallery wall around it. We have a side wall situation that would be good for it. I also love the TV frame from @SamsungUS. I think it helps to elevate the room. I'm a thief when it comes to water cups in my room. I think having a pretty designated room water cup may help...or at least I'll now own another pretty cup.

Start by establishing a cohesive color palette that balances genders and personal styles. For instance, maroon and soft pastels can create a playful yet sophisticated environment. When selecting furniture, focus on versatility; beds with storage, like those from IKEA, can efficiently utilize space while retaining functionality. Incorporate twin beds or bunk beds to maximize floor space, especially in smaller rooms. Consider fun accessories like stylish throw pillows or bean bags that resonate with both children. Make sure to involve them in the process, allowing them to express their personalities. Lighting is very important in creating the right ambiance. Explore options that allow for brightness during playtime and softness for relaxation. Funky lamps from local stores or unique finds from thrifting can add character to the room. Decoratively, adding personal touches such as artwork or a gallery wall featuring each child’s favorite pieces enhances the room's warmth. Functional items like a wall-mounted chess or board game area cater to hobbies while serving as decor. Remember to maintain an organized space; consider dedicated areas for toys, books, and clothes to keep everything tidy. Ultimately, the goal is to create a bedroom that is a true reflection of both children’s personalities, ensuring they feel at home in their shared space.
