Think less 'evil overlord' and more 'unbeatable force of nature.' I had the perfect opportunity to practice this at summer camp recently. There was this young man, full of energy, performing incredible backflips and daring dives from the white diving platform. Watching him launch into the blue sky, with the lush green forest in the background, felt like witnessing a scene from an action movie. That's where 'villain photography' really comes alive for me – transforming an athletic feat into an epic narrative. To really nail these shots, timing is everything. You want to catch that peak moment when the young man is mid-air, just having sprung from the platform, or right at the apex of his backflip before he begins his descent. Capturing the dynamic splash of water droplets as he enters or exits the water adds another layer of intensity.
