Are You Dependent on These “Essentials”?

You might think you need all these products just to get through the day, right? Toothpaste, tongue scrapers, brushes, skin care—it’s a routine we’ve all been told is necessary. But have you ever questioned why we’re so dependent on them? These items become our crutches, chaining us to a cycle of consumption.

Every single item we introduce into our lives creates a ripple effect, fueling our codependency on artificial conveniences. Think about it: using that store-bought toothpaste that promises “fresh breath,” what are you actually doing? Masking what your body should naturally maintain. That toothbrush in your hand? You’ve been led to believe you need it daily, or else. But here’s the kicker: how many generations thrived without these things, using nature’s tools?

Now, don’t get me wrong—there’s a place for hygiene. But when your life becomes reliant on a growing list of synthetic “essentials,” are you truly living free? Every new product creates a need for the next—more gadgets, more chemicals, more waste. And let’s be real—have you ever found true happiness by just adding more stuff to your life?

So here’s the truth: real freedom comes from simplifying, from breaking the chains of product dependency. Take a step back and think: are these things enhancing my life, or am I trapped in a web of artificial needs? Start small. Let go of what’s unnecessary and see what life feels like when you return to nature.

The challenge: Can you strip back your routine? Can you find your raw, natural self again? I guarantee that the more you release, the more power you’ll feel. Let’s break free together.

... Read moreHave you ever wondered why humans feel the need for so many products to survive? In a society filled with synthetic items, many grapple with the question of necessity versus need. Historically, generations have thrived using natural tools, yet today, we face a relentless marketing push convincing us that toothpaste, skincare, and other mundane items are essential for well-being. This reliance often leads to more waste and clutter instead of providing genuine fulfillment. The modern lifestyle has created an intricate web of dependencies where each new product seemingly addresses a need that the prior item was already supposed to fulfill. Consequently, as we accumulate more gadgets and chemicals, the paradox of choice can leave us feeling overwhelmed rather than empowered. The pursuit of happiness through material means can trap us in a cycle that distracts from genuine self-discovery and natural living. Instead of being bogged down by a myriad of choices, embracing minimalist principles can lead to enhanced clarity and peace of mind. By critically evaluating what is truly necessary, individuals might rediscover a deeper connection with themselves and their surroundings. Stripping back unnecessary clutter both physically and mentally encourages authenticity and freedom, allowing us to engage with life more fully. Next time you reach for an “essential,” pause and consider: is it enhancing your experience or simply perpetuating a cycle of consumption? Simplifying your routine might not only liberate you from excess but can also pave the way for a richer, more meaningful existence.

I’m not dependent on anything, however I enjoy things that enhance my life and my quality of life. The generations that you’re speaking of thriving… People were dying young and losing teeth and filling pit marks of their skin in with beeswax. I get the sentiment but the way you got there not so much.
