Why does something as simple as water feel so… wrong?

In the United States, water isn’t treated—it’s tortured. Chlorine is poured in to kill bacteria, but when it reacts with organic matter, it creates trihalomethanes, which are linked to cancer. Fluoride? Sold as a public health miracle, but it’s industrial waste, accumulating in your body and wreaking havoc on your thyroid and brain. Then there’s lead. Their pipes are maintained, not neglected, and testing standards are ruthless, not relaxed.

And yet, in the U.S., we’re told it’s “safe.” Safe? For who? For the corporations dumping their waste? For the agencies cutting corners to save a buck? Certainly not for you. Not for your kidneys, your nervous system, your cells.
