Comparison Steals Joy 💕

What if you’re not behind… you’re just on your own timeline ❤️. It’s so easy to compare. Their baby walked earlier, their house looks perfect, their life seems easier. But parenthood is not a competition. Every journey moves differently. Your baby, your family, your pace 🌱. The only thing that truly matters is love 💕.

... Read moreMany parents fall into the trap of comparing their family’s progress or achievements with others, which can lead to unnecessary stress and feelings of inadequacy. The idea of the "comparison test" in family therapy highlights how this habit can undermine parental confidence and harm family dynamics. Instead of viewing others’ successes as benchmarks, it's important to recognize that every family evolves differently and at its own pace. Another concept to watch out for is "parental overvaluation," where parents overestimate their children’s skills or progress because of emotional attachment or pressure, which can distort expectations and lead to comparison. Similarly, the "stacking the deck fallacy" refers to selectively focusing on information that supports unfair comparisons, further feeding into negative feelings. Through my own experience, embracing the belief that "every journey is different" has been transformative. Accepting your unique circumstances and focusing on the love that binds your family nurtures confidence, reduces anxiety, and makes the parenting journey more fulfilling. Instead of competing with others, celebrate your own milestones and cherish the growth you witness in your family every day.

Comparison steals the joy from your own life 😵
True enough, I used to compare everything! Careers • Timelines • Milestones 💯 Looking back, I realise how I was never meant to follow someone else’s timeline, but mine! Now I’m following my own timeline, doing what I love and I’ve never felt so light again! 💕 ❓So tell me: what's one

Comparison is the thief of all joy.
Hey FLO Fam, this might resonate with some of you today. “Comparison is the thief of all joy” I didn’t fully understand this until I realised how often I was measuring my progress against others. Someone else’s pace. Someone else’s achievements. Someone else’s life stage. And quietl

Clarity through comparison
Why I decided to work with a broker firm? A lot of people ask me why I joined an independent broker firm instead of a well-known insurance company. It’s not because I dislike insurance companies 🤣 — it’s because of what I experienced personally. If I truly want to help people, I need the fre

Why I chose OSCAR > NIPT

Comparison shifts your focus from progress to perception. What others are doing has little to do with your outcome. But where you place your attention shapes your consistency. Progress grows when focus stays internal. Not on who is ahead, but on what improves. The real metric isn
