PS5 Tips | Part 3

2024/11/21 Edited to

... Read moreAlright, fellow gamers! It's time for Part 3 of my favorite PS5 tips that have seriously changed my gaming experience. I know we all love our PlayStation 5, but there are so many hidden gems and settings that can really elevate your gameplay. I’ve been experimenting a lot, and I’m excited to share some of my go-to strategies. First up, let's talk about those incredible DualSense controllers. The adaptive triggers and haptic feedback are revolutionary, but sometimes, depending on the game, they can feel a bit much. Did you know you can adjust their intensity? Head to 'Settings' > 'Accessories' > 'Controllers' > 'Vibration Intensity' and 'Trigger Effect Intensity'. For some fast-paced shooters, I actually dial down the trigger effect slightly – it gives me faster reflexes without losing the immersion entirely. It's a game-changer for competitive play, trust me! Next, optimizing your game presets. This is a huge one for convenience. Instead of changing settings for every new game, you can set defaults! Go to 'Settings' > 'Saved Data and Game/App Settings' > 'Game Presets'. Here, you can choose 'Performance Mode' or 'Resolution Mode' as your default, invert camera controls, and even set your preferred difficulty. I always set mine to 'Performance Mode' for that buttery-smooth 60fps, unless a game is truly stunning in resolution mode. It saves so much time when diving into a new title. Another tip involves managing your precious SSD space. We all know PS5 games are massive. If you haven't already, consider adding an M.2 SSD. It’s surprisingly straightforward! Just make sure it meets Sony’s specifications (PCIe Gen4, minimum 5,500MB/s read speed, and proper heatsink). Installing one gives you so much breathing room for more games, and they load just as fast as the internal drive. For me, it was a crucial upgrade to stop constantly deleting games. This is one of those PS5 TIPS that really makes a difference for long-term enjoyment. Have you explored the Activity Cards? They’re more than just fancy icons. When you press the PlayStation button during a game, you'll see these cards, which can offer direct jumps to specific missions, challenges, or even hints. For games with lots of side quests or collectibles, they're a lifesaver. I use them constantly to track my progress and quickly hop back into the action without navigating through endless menus. Finally, don't underestimate the power of a good headset and its audio settings. The PS5’s 3D audio is fantastic, but ensure your headset is configured correctly. In 'Settings' > 'Sound' > 'Audio Output', you can adjust your 3D Audio Profile. Experiment with the different profiles to find what sounds best for your ears and headset. It truly enhances spatial awareness in games, letting you pinpoint enemy locations just by sound. These are just a few more tips I’ve picked up along the way to make my PlayStation experience even better. Hope these PS5 game tips help you elevate your own adventures!
