PS5 Tips | Part 10

2024/12/21 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! Joe here, back with more PS5 insights to enhance your gaming sessions. Beyond just knowing your way around, truly mastering your PS5 means making it work for *you*. One thing I often see people struggle with is managing their ever-growing Game Library. With massive titles like God of War Ragnarok and the frequent updates for CALL OF DUTY or Apex Legends, storage and organization become key. First off, did you know you can create custom game folders? It’s a game-changer! Instead of endlessly scrolling, I've got folders for 'Currently Playing,' 'Backlog,' and even 'PS Plus Gems.' This makes finding titles like ASTRO's Playroom or jumping back into a specific campaign much faster. Go to your Game Library, select a game, press Options, and you'll find the 'Add to Folder' option. It's super handy for keeping your 'Your Collection' tidy. Another tip revolves around maximizing your PlayStation Plus subscription. Beyond the monthly free games, don't forget the Game Catalog. I often browse it for hidden gems or games I missed. And speaking of progress, ensuring you can 'Continue where you left off' seamlessly is crucial. Always check your cloud saves – especially if you play on multiple consoles or have frequent power outages. For a game as epic as God of War Ragnarok, losing progress is the absolute worst! For those massive online games like Apex Legends and Call of Duty, managing downloads and updates can be a hassle. I always recommend enabling automatic updates in your system settings. This way, when you're ready to jump on with friends, you're not waiting for a huge patch to download. Also, consider offloading games you aren't currently playing to an external SSD to free up internal space for your most-played titles. It’s a small investment that makes a huge difference in load times and overall system responsiveness. Finally, don't forget the 'Current activity' card on your home screen. It’s a quick way to dive straight back into your last played game, saving you precious seconds. For example, if I'm 14% into 'Surviving Fimbulwinter' in God of War Ragnarok, that card is my instant portal back into the action. These little habits truly make for a smoother, more enjoyable PS5 experience. Happy gaming!
