From the overwhelming pride in your child's milestones to the tender sorrow of seeing them outgrow precious stages, the experience is deeply personal and unique for every parent. I've often found myself marveling at how my child seems to transform almost overnight, each 'new version' a fresh surprise — a blend of excitement and nostalgia that tugs at the heart. Interestingly, the metaphor of wingspan from the imagery of magnificent birds like the Bald Eagle and Red-Tailed Hawk captures this experience well. Just as these creatures spread their wings and measure up to their own growth, so do our children. Watching them stretch their limits, explore new terrains, and develop their identities is both inspiring and bittersweet. The measurement charts referenced in the images you shared, detailing wingspans, remind me of tracking my child's growth — not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. It’s a humbling reminder that growth is not linear, and each phase comes with its own set of challenges and joys. Accepting this ebb and flow has helped me embrace the changing roles I play in my child’s life. Ultimately, motherhood is about holding space in your heart for the excitement of new chapters while gently mourning the closing of others. It’s a plea to the universe, a prayer for strength — 'Lord hold my heart' — perfectly encapsulating the vulnerability and love that defines this endless rollercoaster.
