I’m not the same woman I was just a few months ago. Motherhood has changed me in the most beautiful way, and I truly feel like this is the best version of myself. I thought it was time for a little reintroduction.
Hi, I’m Shelby. I’m a first time girl mom who still loves to stay connected to her inner child. I love to laugh, to thrift, to create, and to soak up every moment with the people I love. I believe in the magic of Disney, and I’m embracing 30 with more joy and comfort in my own skin than ever before.
For the past 7 years I have been a teacher, something that has been such a special part of my heart and identity. But now, as I step into this new chapter of motherhood, I am learning that while those roles are precious, they do not fully define me. I am still me, a whole and complete person beyond the titles I carry.
If you’re on a journey of motherhood, rediscovering yourself in your 30s, or simply trying to embrace the beauty in everyday life, I’d love for you to follow along so we can grow through it together. 🫶

As a new mom to a baby girl, she navigates the complex emotions that come with embracing a new identity while still honoring her past passions and inner child. Many women find that motherhood challenges their previous sense of self, and like Shelby, they often rediscover joy in simple pleasures such as laughter, creativity, and connection with loved ones.
At 30, Shelby expresses a profound comfort in her own skin, demonstrating that self-acceptance can deepen over time with life’s evolving roles. Embracing your thirties can indeed be a milestone where hope, confidence, and wisdom harmonize. It’s important to note that life’s titles—whether mother, teacher, or friend—do not wholly define a person. Rather, they are part of a dynamic identity that grows and adapts.
Shelby’s love for Disney and crafting reflects how maintaining connections to one’s inner child can bring continuous happiness and balance. This approach resonates with many adults who find that nurturing that youthful spirit helps alleviate the stresses of daily life and the challenges that come with new roles.
Her story also touches on the emotional complexity many mothers face, including body image struggles after childbirth. It is empowering to see Shelby reject societal expectations that promote self-criticism, instead choosing to appreciate her body for the incredible role it played in bringing new life into the world. This perspective can inspire others to cultivate kindness and patience towards themselves during postpartum adjustment periods.
For those on similar paths—whether rediscovering themselves in their 30s or adjusting to motherhood—Shelby’s openness offers a comforting reminder that imperfection is part of the human experience. By sharing authentic reflections and everyday joys, her community becomes a space where people don’t just survive these transitions but thrive through connection and self-compassion.
In essence, Shelby’s journey is a celebration of becoming and belonging—to oneself, to family, and to a community of shared growth and understanding. This genuine narrative encourages everyone to embrace their evolving identities, cherish small moments, and support one another through life’s beautiful changes.
