We are officially in the TRENCHES of the 6-month sleep regression.

What even are naps? We certainly haven’t heard of those around here…

And a full night’s sleep? I haven’t seen her in WEEKS.

This has been a very realistic evening lately—I’ll have all the plans and intentions to get things done, but baby girl is the real boss around here.

What an honor it is to be her safe place when she’s feeling sleepy or not well. (Or at least that’s what I keep telling myself 😅)

One day, I know I’ll miss these snuggly (and slightly fussy) afternoons. I’m trying really hard not to let it get me down when the house is a mess.

If you’ve been here (or you’re here right now), tell me I’m not alone—and drop any sleep regression survival tips below. 🤍 #firsttimemom #nannymom #girlmom #vlog #momvlog

From my experience, one of the best ways to cope is embracing flexibility: plans can wait because your baby’s needs take priority now. It’s important to create a calm and soothing environment for your little one — dim lights, soft white noise, and gentle rocking can make a difference when your baby is feeling restless or fussy. I’ve also found it helpful to have short periods of self-care or a quick task that feels manageable during baby’s brief awake times, like folding laundry or preparing a simple snack. These small achievements help maintain a sense of normalcy despite the unpredictable sleep patterns. Remember, it’s okay to reach out for support from family, friends, or parenting communities online, where sharing similar experiences can provide reassurance and practical tips. One unexpected benefit I've discovered is how this phase fosters a deep, reassuring bond with my baby. Being her safe place when she’s sleepy or unwell strengthens our connection and builds trust. It’s a challenging phase, but it’s also full of moments I know I’ll look back on fondly. If you’re dealing with the sleep regression now, take heart: these early struggles are temporary, and they don’t define your parenting journey. Sharing tips and encouragement can be a lifeline, so please know you’re not alone on this ride.
