I’ve been a little quiet lately but I’ve made the decision to change my life. My husband and I joined a gym and we workout 5 or 6 days a week. We have also been eating low carb/ high protein. I keep trying to film what I eat in a day but they always end at lunch time because once I get home from my evening workout- the two brain cells I have left never remember to record. But anyways here’s a typical breakfast: fruit and stuffed tomato’s. Lunch: pizza cottage cheese bowl. Both are 10/10
Making a consistent change in your lifestyle can be challenging, but it’s incredibly rewarding once you find what works for you. My husband and I decided to take control of our health by joining a gym and dedicating 5 to 6 days a week to exercise. This routine has not only improved our fitness but also our energy levels and overall mood throughout the day. One thing I learned quickly is the importance of nutrition in supporting this active lifestyle. We shifted to a low carb, high protein diet which helps us maintain energy and sustain muscle recovery after workouts. Breakfast is a critical meal for me, so I focus on including natural sugars from fruits to fuel my morning along with stuffed tomatoes that add a refreshing and nutritious start. Lunch is equally satisfying; something like a pizza cottage cheese bowl may sound unconventional but it is a delicious way to combine protein and comfort food cravings. Cottage cheese is packed with protein and calcium, and pairing it with vegetables and herbs can make a wholesome meal. Despite my effort to track meals throughout the day, evenings remain a bit tricky as exhaustion sets in after late workouts, often making consistent recording a challenge. But embracing flexibility and enjoying my healthy food choices without pressure has been key to sustaining this new routine. For anyone thinking about making a similar change, I recommend focusing on small, manageable goals such as regular exercise and gradually adjusting your diet. Keeping meals simple and enjoyable helps with adherence, and pairing food choices with your fitness routine can greatly enhance results and well-being. Remember, it’s about progress, not perfection, and celebrating these daily victories adds up to a healthier, happier life.
