How do you resist treats in the break room at work

Let me start this by saying I know I’m very lucky to have this problem. I love my coworkers, they’re the best.

I had gastric bypass weight loss surgery 6 months ago. I have to be very mindful of what I’m eating. It’s very hard for me to resist junk food if it’s right in front of me. I use the break room for an hour long lunch every day. I have healthy lunches. But it’s hard to resist temptation when I’m sharing a table with it!

How do you resist treats at work? How do you decline treats without hurting someone’s feelings?

It's about balance, the more you allow yourself to have fun food and don't see them as bad or junk food. The less you'll crave them. Allow yourself to have a treat on Monday, and maybe again on Thursday or Friday. Don't think of it like a cheat day, or you need to eat healthier to compensate.
