This was such a wake-up call for me! How often do I choose what's comfortable or familiar over what God is clearly calling me to do, simply because of a personal preference? It’s a powerful reminder that our comfort zones aren't always our growth zones. Then he moved onto 'Submission,' presenting it as the antidote to this danger of preference. It's not about being weak, but about aligning our will with God’s, even when it’s uncomfortable. This ties into the idea of 'Wasted Time' and how God is truly a 'Redeemer of Time,' referencing Joel 2:25. If we’ve spent time lingering in seasons we should have left, or let preference dictate our path, it's not lost. God can redeem and restore it, urging us to take immediate action now. That's incredibly hopeful, especially for those of us who feel like we've missed opportunities. Another profound thought was on 'Lethal Loyalty' – choosing history over destiny. This really hit hard. It means holding onto past relationships, old habits, or even past versions of ourselves simply because they're familiar, even if they're no longer aligned with where God is leading us. The sermon urged us to recognize when that loyalty becomes lethal to our future. Progress, as he explained, absolutely depends on our willingness to leave old seasons and old mindsets behind. It's about having the courage to step away from what was, to embrace what is meant to be. Finally, the discussion of God's unconditional love versus conditional blessings was very insightful. We know God's love is always there, no matter what. But Pastor Mike Jr. explained that some blessings are conditional, depending on our obedience and willingness to 'get tah steppin'.'
