... Read moreHey everyone! So glad you're here to learn a little more about my SAHM journey. Life with two energetic boys means there's rarely a dull moment, but it also means I'm constantly looking for ways to keep us active and engaged. For me, getting out of the house isn't just a want, it's a need for both my sanity and the boys' boundless energy! One of our absolute favorite ways to do this is by exploring local walking trails here in Kansas City (KC). Seriously, nothing beats the fresh air and the beauty of nature to reset your day. We're so lucky to have some incredible spots, and I'm always on the hunt for new ones. Our current go-to is a gorgeous leaf-covered path that winds through a lush forest – it feels like a little escape right in the city! It's perfect for pushing the baby in his car seat (or stroller, of course!) and letting my older son zoom ahead on his bicycle. Seeing them happy and exploring makes all the effort worthwhile. If you're a SAHM like me, don't underestimate the power of a good trail walk. It’s not just exercise; it's a chance for observation, for quiet moments (if you're lucky!), and for the boys to burn off some of that incredible energy. I always recommend checking if trails are stroller-friendly or have playgrounds nearby for a bonus treat. Beyond our outdoor adventures, my little pockets of joy often involve a warm cup of coffee and a good book. As a boy mom, finding time for myself can be a challenge, but I've learned to savor those small moments. Sometimes it’s a quick coffee stop at a local KC cafe before a park playdate, other times it’s enjoying a peaceful brew while the boys are napping (a rare but cherished occurrence!). And books? They're my ultimate escape. Whether it’s an audiobook during a long walk or a physical book tucked into my bag for those unexpected waiting times, reading helps me feel connected to myself amidst the beautiful chaos of motherhood. This journey of 'finding my people' and 'finding myself' as a SAHM has been incredibly rewarding, and a bit challenging too. It's why I joined Lemon8 – to connect with other moms who get it! If you’re in KC, or just a fellow SAHM navigating the ups and downs of life with little ones, let’s share our favorite walking trails, coffee spots, or even just our current read. Building a supportive community, whether online or at a park playdate, truly makes all the difference. What are your go-to strategies for getting out and staying connected?
