Caramel Pecan Overnight French Toast Bake
Rich, caramelized, and nutty. This Overnight French Toast Bake is the ultimate make-ahead brunch dish. Perfect for holidays or cozy weekends!
Ingredients:
• 1 loaf brioche or challah bread, cubed
• 4 large eggs
• 2 cups milk
• ½ cup brown sugar
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp vanilla
Topping:
• ½ cup butter
• ½ cup brown sugar
• ½ cup chopped pecans
Directions:
1. Grease a 9×13 baking dish and spread cubed bread evenly.
2. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Pour over bread, making sure all cubes are coated.
3. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight (at least 6 hrs).
4. Next morning: melt butter with brown sugar. Pour over bread and sprinkle with pecans.
5. Bake uncovered at 350°F (175°C) for ~40 minutes, until golden and puffed.
6. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving with maple syrup!
