Losing the weight changed my body. Setting boundaries changed my life.
Two years ago, I was 200 pounds and, if I’m being completely transparent, I hated the person I saw in the mirror. My mental health was suffering, my physical health was suffering, and I felt like I was losing myself.
Then I made a choice.
I started taking my mental health seriously. I started anxiety medication, began my GLP-1 journey, and slowly started learning something I should have known all along: I matter, too.
The biggest transformation wasn’t the number on the scale. It was learning to set boundaries, protect my peace, and give myself the same love and care that I so freely gave to everyone else.
Today, I am healthier, happier, and stronger than I have been in years.
This is your reminder that it’s okay to choose yourself. ❤️

Two years ago, reaching 200 pounds was not just a number for me—it reflected deep struggles with my mental and physical health. One of the most pivotal moments was recognizing that my well-being needed to become a priority. Starting medication for anxiety and ADHD was daunting at first, yet these proven treatments offered me clarity and calm I hadn’t experienced before. Alongside medication, beginning a GLP-1 therapy helped me tackle the physical challenges of weight loss. The combination of medical support and self-care efforts created an environment where gradual change was possible. However, the most meaningful transformation didn’t come from the scale but from within—learning to truly set boundaries. This meant saying no to things and people that drained my energy and prioritizing my peace. By enforcing these boundaries, I found renewed strength not just physically but emotionally. It was empowering to give myself the same kindness and care I once reserved exclusively for others. This journey wasn't linear; it required patience, self-compassion, and daily commitment. I also learned that being open about mental health medications is essential to reduce stigma and encourage others to seek help. Today, I weigh around 156.7 pounds, but more importantly, I smile genuinely and hold pride in who I have become. Maintaining balance by continuing my medication and respecting my limits has been vital. My story is a reminder that choosing yourself is a brave and necessary act—not selfish—especially as a mother navigating multiple roles. For anyone struggling with weight, mental health, or boundary-setting, know that combining medical guidance with self-love practices can lead to profound, lasting change. Remember, health is holistic, and protecting your mental peace is just as important as your physical health.
