Sweet peas are not only delicious but also packed with essential nutrients like vitamins A and C, as well as fiber. To prepare sweet pea puree perfectly, start by choosing either fresh or frozen peas. If using frozen peas, ensure they are steamed until tender to optimize the flavor and texture. Once the peas are cooked, blend them with a small amount of water, breast milk, or formula until you achieve a smooth consistency. For an even silkier puree, strain it to eliminate any remaining solids, which is especially important for younger babies. This puree can be served immediately or stored in ice cube trays for easy portioning and freezing. When frozen, it can last up to three months, making meal prep convenient for busy parents. Sweet pea puree pairs well with other fruits and vegetables, allowing for endless combinations that can help expand your baby's palate. Always remember to consult with your pediatrician regarding new foods to introduce into your baby's diet.
