Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is nice but a lot of work honestly.

I’m always hungry and thirsty, even when I had a full meal and drinking lots of water. I love to breastfeed when I’m tired to wash the bottles and warm up a bottle. Usually I breastfeed at night but I’m always scared because I’m so tired that my boob might suffocate my baby.

Many new mothers experience increased hunger and thirst, which can be overwhelming. This is partly due to the body’s demands while producing milk. In fact, lactation can burn hundreds of calories a day, making it essential for mothers to maintain a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals. Moreover, the emotional aspects of breastfeeding can lead to anxiety, especially at night when fatigue sets in. Many mothers worry about safety, such as the fear of the infant suffocating while feeding in a sleepy haze. To combat this, creating a safe breastfeeding environment is crucial. Utilize techniques like side-lying positions or propping pillows to ensure both mother and baby are comfortable and secure. Support is also vital during this journey. Joining support groups or online communities can provide reassurance and valuable tips. Engaging with hashtags like #breastfeedingjourney and #sahmlife connects mothers who share similar experiences, fostering a sense of community. By embracing the reality of breastfeeding, including its difficulties and rewards, mothers can create lasting memories and bonds with their little ones.
