Working abroad often means facing challenges alone, and sometimes those challenges can lead to emotional trauma and isolation. From my experience, one of the hardest parts is managing feelings of loneliness and the pressure of being responsible not just for myself but for my family back home. The words from the image I often reflect on — "If you are abroad, you must work hard because you can only depend on yourself" — truly resonate with me. It reminds me that self-reliance is essential, but so is finding inner strength through faith and hope. In addition to physical exhaustion, emotional struggles can include anxiety, sleeplessness, and moments of despair. It's important to recognize these feelings and seek support, whether through connecting with fellow OFWs, joining community groups, or simply talking openly about your experiences. Staying motivated by remembering the reasons for working abroad — such as providing for one's children — can provide a powerful source of comfort. Moreover, embracing motivational quotes and positive affirmations has helped me maintain hope during difficult times. If you are going through similar experiences, consider reflecting on these messages and reaching out when you need to. Your resilience and courage do not go unnoticed, and sharing your story might inspire others to keep pushing forward despite the hardships.
