Nurses, I need your advice!

I start session 2 of my accelerated nursing program tomorrow. This session is supposed to be where most people in the program drop. I’m taking Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, and Med Surg. Nurses/Nursing students, do you have any study tips, or helpful resources?

... Read moreNavigating the demands of an accelerated nursing program can be daunting, especially during crucial sessions like Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, and Med Surg. To thrive, try creating a structured study schedule that allocates time for each subject while incorporating regular breaks to enhance retention. Engage with online forums and study groups specific to nursing, as these platforms allow for the exchange of resources and study tips. Utilize textbooks such as 'Abrams' Clinical Drug Therapy: Rationales for Nursing Practice' to gain a comprehensive understanding of drug therapy and its implications in nursing practice. Consider using flashcards for pharmacology to memorize key drug classifications and side effects effectively. Practical application is vital; seek opportunities for peer teaching or study sessions where you can explain concepts to others, reinforcing your understanding. Don’t forget to practice self-care during this rigorous academic journey—adequate sleep, nutritious meals, and physical activity can significantly impact your study efficiency and overall well-being. Lastly, make use of resources provided by your nursing school, like tutoring or access to online libraries, which can further aid your studies. Good luck, and remember, you are not alone in this journey!
