Thank you for following; my title is in response to the prompt:

How do I deal with my partners family?

While I don’t think I goto into the right algo, my advice is,

If his mom is problematic, no matter how patient you are, she is never going to change.

If you can’t accept that, then he isn’t the man for you. She will notice your distaste and rather than be accountable (hard for boy moms/some women) she will probably make u the villain/enemy1 while playing victim.

If you notice this while dating him, run. She is older than you and has had a lot of practice with psychologically manipulating her child. And when it comes to mind games with adult children, if mommy still beats gf/wifey, he is not YOUR problem; he is hers. He belongs to her. Let them be. Walk away. Keep your pride and head held high.

Never let anyone tilt your crown. Respect is earned.

Many individuals face challenges when their partner's family dynamics impact their romantic life. It is essential to recognize that if you find yourself in a situation where your partner’s family is consistently problematic, it’s important to assess how it affects you and your relationship. Recognizing unhealthy behaviors from a partner's family, such as psychological manipulation or passive-aggressive dynamics, is the first step toward self-preservation. By setting clear boundaries and maintaining self-respect, you can navigate these potentially toxic situations with grace. Remember, respect must be mutual, and it’s important to only invest in relationships that uplift and support you. If a partner's family makes you feel small or unvalued, consider whether that relationship aligns with your values and emotional well-being. Additionally, communicating openly with your partner about these family dynamics can foster understanding and support. They may not recognize the impact their family has due to their lifelong habits. Ensure you express your feelings without blame, focusing on how their family’s actions affect your well-being. Discerning whether your partner is able to stand up to their family on your behalf is crucial—it speaks volumes about their commitment to your happiness. Ultimately, never let anyone diminish your worth. Keeping your head held high and walking away from situations that disempower you is not only a sign of strength but also the path to finding the right relationship dynamic. Remember, prioritizing self-respect is a vital foundation for any healthy partnership.
